SENIOR ACCOUNTANT in the Finance Department.

Role/Purpose:

The Sr. Accountant is responsible for providing key support for the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly financial reporting, analysis and controls. Supports analysis of financial data and provides key support into the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide key support for the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly and annual financial reporting and analysis

Assist in ensuring accuracy of financial statements

Provide key support of financial analysis of margins, pricing, expenses, and inventory charges and assists explaining/documenting key fluctuations vs. Prior year, budget, and forecast

Support analysis of sales contracts/PO's/terms & conditions to determine feasibility and compliance

Ensure transactional data reconciles to GL

Assist with the responsibilities Account Payable, Accounts Receivable, general accounting and payroll

Liaison between the accounting department and Operations, Service, and Order Entry

Assist in developing SL-US and MT-Eagle bi-monthly forecasts as part of Outlook process as well as monitoring / tracking progress

Support adherence to SOX controls and assist in the internal and external audits

Support quarterly revenue recognition and revenue cut-off review

Support sales tax compliance

Support VAT compliance

Other duties or tasks as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Hyperion, ERP System)

Strong knowledge of SOX requirements

Strong knowledge of accounting compliance to GAAP especially with revenue recognition

Strong accounting background

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent analytical ability

Excellent management reporting skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization

Must be detail oriented and accurate with data and reporting

Manages change and growth well

Ability to trouble shoot and help drive process improvements

Appropriately handles confidentiality

Patience and balanced demeanor

Minimum Education / Experience Required:

BS/BA in accounting (CPA or MBA preferred)

Three or more years of experience in accounting/finance

SAP / BI experience preferred
