This position reports to the Mechanical Assembly Supervisor/Manager. This is a SECOND SHIFT position.
Summary: This position is responsible for assembling x-ray and Metal Detector equipment and conveyor systems based on engineered drawings. Mechanical Technician will follow trained procedures for assembly and be required to assemble machines based on the production schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble systems as designed this includes Overhead Sweep, Food Grade, Retracting Bands, and Gravity Feed Conveyors
Perform all levels of mechanical repairs to machinery and conveyors
Ensure production scheduled machines are completed on time
Document and record hours of assembly, per job order, using provided software and recording logs
Assemble systems using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools
Use Electric Stud gun as needed
Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management

Pre-Requisites (Education, Experience, etc.):
Minimum Two (2) years' experience in industrial machinery.
Certificate of course completion in Electro-mechanical technologies or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Attitude:
Drills and pneumatic hand tools
Able to interpret engineering assembly drawings and BOM
Ability to work with limited supervision
Computer literate (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
Able to lift at least 40 lbs.
